Trade-In Estimate Planner
A planning estimate to help you budget an upgrade. It is not a quote: Apple and carriers check the device and set the real value.
Method: published launch price, typical yearly depreciation for the category, then the condition factor. Resale marketplaces often pay more than trade-in; trade-in pays for convenience.
About the Trade-In Estimator
Planning an upgrade starts with knowing what your current device is worth. This estimator gives a realistic trade-in value range for iPhones and other Apple gear based on model, storage and condition, so you can budget the jump honestly.
How to use it
- 1 Choose your current model and storage.
- 2 Answer the condition questions honestly: screen, battery, buttons, water damage.
- 3 See the value range and what it covers toward your next device.
Frequently asked questions
Is trade-in or selling privately worth more?+
Selling privately usually pays more but takes time and carries risk. Trade-in pays less for zero effort and no strangers. The estimator shows the official-style baseline.
Does a cracked screen kill the value?+
It cuts it sharply, sometimes to parts value at official channels. A repair can be worth it before trading in; compare the repair cost with the value jump.
What battery health is acceptable?+
Most programs ask for a working battery; below 80 percent health the value drops and some channels refuse. Check yours in Settings, Battery, Battery Health.
