How to Find a Lost iPhone With Find My
Act fast and stay calm: Find My shows the location, plays a sound, and can lock the phone with your number on screen.
From any browser, go to iCloud.com/find and sign in, or open the Find My app on another Apple device. Select your iPhone to see its last location on the map. If it is nearby but silent, use Play Sound.
If it is not nearby, turn on Mark As Lost. This locks the phone with your passcode, pauses Apple Pay, and lets you display a message with a number where you can be reached. Anyone who finds it sees only that message.

If the phone is clearly stolen or unrecoverable, the Erase option removes your data; use it last, because an erased phone can no longer be tracked. Afterwards, report the loss to your carrier so the SIM is blocked, and change your Apple Account password. Find My works best when set up early: check now, in Settings under your name, that Find My iPhone and Send Last Location are both on.
